Were seeking a dynamic and decisive Bureau Chief to lead our Bloombergs Philippines coverage from Manila setting the editorial agenda and overseeing reporting across politics economics markets and companies. From political developments and corporate news to geopolitical tensions in the South China Sea you will ensure Bloomberg delivers fast authoritative coverage that helps global readers and investors understand the forces shaping the country.
You will foster a culture of competitive source-driven reporting by building and maintaining senior-level relationships across government business and civil society while helping reporters strengthen their own sourcing and deliver exclusives. Beyond breaking news you will encourage ambitious enterprise and analytical reporting that uncovers underappreciated trends and provides deeper insight into the country.
Bloomberg is a highly collaborative newsroom and you will work closely with colleagues across Asia and around the world on major stories. This role is suited to an experienced journalist or editor who combines strong news judgment with leadership skills thrives in a fast-moving environment and is committed to developing talent while upholding Bloombergs standards for speed accuracy and clarity.

- Lead and inspire a team of reporters and set clear editorial direction

- Ensure fast accurate and authoritative coverage under pressure

- Collaborate across regions and teams to deliver global coverage
- Uphold Bloombergs standards for speed accuracy and clarity
Youll need to have:
- At least 5 years of business reporting experience with leadership or mentoring responsibilities preferred
- A strong track record of delivering agenda-setting journalism
- Proven ability to guide coverage and make sound editorial decisions under pressure
- Fluency in both spoken and written English
- Good understanding of the Philippines business political and economic landscape
- Strong news instincts and the confidence to take decisive action
- Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to developing others
