Kelko Accountant (w Civil Construction exp) Permanent work from home, morning shift

Job Title: Accountant (Civil Construction)
Location: Remote / WFH - Philippines
Employment Type: Full-time
Rate: 11AUD/hour

We are seeking a detail-orientated and reliable accountant/bookkeeper with experience in the civil construction industry and strong proficiency in Xero accounting software. The ideal candidate will manage day-to-day financial operations ensure accurate reporting and support project-based accounting requirements.

Manage daily bookkeeping activities including accounts payable and receivable

Maintain accurate financial records using Xero

Perform bank and credit card reconciliations

Prepare monthly financial reports (profit & loss balance sheet cash flow)

Monitor project costs budgets and job profitability (WIP reporting)

Process payroll and ensure compliance with local labor laws

Handle invoicing progress billing and retention tracking

Prepare and lodge tax filings (e.g. VAT/GST income tax etc.)

Assist with budgeting forecasting and financial planning

Coordinate with external auditors tax advisors and stakeholders

Ensure compliance with industry regulations and accounting standards

Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field

2 years experience as an Accountant in a civil construction company (hard requirement)

Strong hands-on experience with Xero (certification is a plus)

Familiarity with construction accounting practices (job costing WIP progress billing)

Solid understanding of financial reporting and reconciliation processes

High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets

Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects

Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Experience working with subcontractors suppliers and project managers

Knowledge of compliance requirements in the construction industry

Experience with payroll systems and statutory contributions

CPA or equivalent certification (advantage but not required)
