Industrial Engineer (Project N (Fremont))

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for the majority of layout creation of the factory and flexible to support capacity modeling.
• Lead and manage the layout of the factory and capacity

Education & Experience

• A bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering with at least 1-2 years of relevant work experience in Autocad Microsoft office and PowerBI
  

Skills

• Leadership capabilities to manage a virtual team
• Possess strong interpersonal skills and enjoy the process of problem-solving
• Expert in Microsoft Office especially Excel
• Work effectively with other members of Coherent Corp.
• Initiate and drive meeting alignment with other departments

Working Conditions

• This role is 100% onsite / hybrid / remote

• Lead and oversee the layout design process for manufacturing facilities ensuring optimal space utilization and efficient workflow.
• Develop and maintain capacity models to forecast production capabilities and identify potential bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering operations and supply chain to align layout and capacity plans with overall business objectives.
• Conduct regular reviews and analyses of manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements.
• Manage and mentor a team of layout designers and capacity analysts providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality work.
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in industrial engineering and manufacturing and incorporate innovative ideas into our processes.
• Prepare and present layout and capacity reports to senior management providing clear and concise recommendations for process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations as well as environmental standards in all layout and capacity planning activities.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for waste reduction and process optimization.
• Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team promoting a positive and productive work environment.

• A bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or a related field is required.
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience in industrial engineering with a focus on layout design and capacity modeling.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a team of professionals.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Proficiency in using layout design software and tools such as AutoCAD or similar programs.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and best practices in the industry.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
• Effective communication skills both written and verbal to collaborate with diverse teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• A proactive and results-oriented mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
