Firmware Engineer

As a Firmware Engineer you will make a meaningful impact by contributing to the development of innovative reliable and secure embedded this position you will play a key role across the product development lifecycle collaborating with crossfunctional teams to design develop test and maintain firmware that enables communication modules power solutions and industrial technologies that support Emersons global customers.

In This Role Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Design and contribute to highlevel firmware architecture aligned with product and system requirements

• Develop implement and optimize firmware algorithms that support communication modules and switchedmode power supplies

• Perform firmware unit testing integration testing and systemlevel testing on prototype and production builds

• Collaborate closely with electronics and hardware design teams to ensure seamless system integration

• Create execute and maintain test cases for firmware validation and qualification including cybersecurity considerations

• Analyze and troubleshoot firmware digital and analog circuit issues to support product quality and reliability

• Prepare maintain and review firmwarerelated documentation specifications and design artifacts

• Participate in peer design and code reviews to promote quality knowledge sharing and continuous improvement

• Support the maintenance and enhancement of existing products across their lifecycle

• Contribute to team capability building by sharing knowledge and supporting the development of lessexperienced engineers

For This Role You Will Need:

• Bachelors or masters degree in Engineering Computer Science IT or any related field.

• Minimum of 2 years handson experience in embedded firmware design and development

• Working knowledge of microcontrollers and digital signal controllers such as ARMbased platforms or equivalent technologies

• Experience developing testing and debugging firmware in a structured development environment

• Familiarity with firmware unit testing integration testing and systemlevel validation practices

• Understanding of network and industrial communication protocols such as TCP/IP UDP Ethernetbased or industrial fieldbus protocols

• Experience working in collaborative development environments including Agile or iterative delivery models

• Ability to create and maintain clear technical documentation to support development and compliance needs

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

• Proficiency in C and C for embedded systems development

• Experience implementing embedded communication interfaces such as I2C UART SPI USB or CAN

• Exposure to realtime operating systems or statemachinebased firmware architectures

• Familiarity with industrial IoT concepts cybersecurity requirements or secure firmware design principles

• Knowledge of switchmode power supply concepts or power electronics firmware integration

• Experience using version control tools such as Git or similar systems

• Awareness of webbased technologies or interfaces used in embedded or industrial environments
