Job Summary
Responsibilities:
- Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements to ensure obligations are met.
- Manage the preparation and maintenance of accurate accounting records following internal procedures and statutory requirements to ensure compliance with legal regulatory codes of conduct and best practice guidelines.
- Provide high-level advice guidance and information on financial matters to support decision-making and improve understanding of financial management.
- Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders including internal and external auditors to ensure service delivery meets customer expectations.
- Contribute and manage the refinement of processes procedures and systems to continuously improve the efficiency of accounting activities.
- Manage the production of accurate financial returns required by internal and external bodies and regulators to meet reporting deadlines.
- Motivate and develop the team to ensure the required standards of performance and support the continuing professional development of all team members.
- Develop relationships in line with the business plan to support the achievement of business objectives.
Work Experience:
Preferred Work Experience includes:
- Moderate accounting or finance experience within a complex financial services organisation.
- Proven experience of consistent and constructive people management capabilities.
- Proven experience in taking active accountability for own workload.
- Solid accounting experience within a financial services organisation.
- Proven experience of working with all levels of an organisation particularly to be credible to senior management.
Qualifications:
Necessary Qualifications include:
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Certifications as an accountant.
Preferred Qualifications include:
- Relevant administrative qualifications.
