As a Digital Advertising Specialist youll play a pivotal role in expanding our reach connecting global audiences with vital content on human rights media freedom and sustainable development. Youll work within a dynamic mission-driven External Engagement team that values creativity data-informed decisions and ethical marketing aligned with theReuters Trust Principles. Despite operating with lean resources we punch above our weightleveraging digital platforms strategically to achieve outsized impact across diverse geographies and audiences.

This is a hands-on specialist role where youll own the full lifecycle of paid campaignsfrom strategy and targeting to reporting and optimisation. Youll collaborate closely with colleagues in Communications Social Media and Design while advising leadership on digital advertising best practice and budget strategy. About the Role
In this opportunity as aDigital Advertising Specialist you will:

  • Own and executethe end-to-end paid media strategy across social and search platforms aligning campaigns with clear objectivesawareness consideration or conversion.
  • Design and manage full-funnel digital campaignsacross LinkedIn Google Search (including Google Ad Grant) Meta YouTube and emerging platforms optimising for performance and impact.
  • Develop and refine audience targeting strategiesfor B2B professional and niche advocacy audiences using structured A/B testing to improve outcomes.
  • Implement robust tracking and analytics frameworksto measure performance delivering regular reports and actionable insights to non-specialist stakeholders.
  • Manage campaign budgets and billingacross multiple platforms ensuring efficient spend compliance and demonstrable ROI within a constrained nonprofit environment.
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Leadto align paid and organic strategies maximising reach and engagement across integrated campaigns.
  • Coach internal stakeholderson paid media best practices emerging opportunities and budget requirementstranslating technical performance into strategic recommendations.

About You
Youre a fit for the role ofDigital Advertising Specialistif you have the following required qualifications:

  • A proven track record of planning executing and analysing successful paid digital advertising campaigns with measurable results.
  • Hands-on experience managing campaigns onLinkedIn AdsandGoogle Search Ads; experience with theGoogle Ad Grant programis highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and manage multi-stage campaigns across the marketing funnel (awareness to conversion) with clearly defined objectives and KPIs.
  • Experience building and refining audience segments for professional B2B or advocacy-focused campaigns.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in campaign reporting tools (e.g. Google Analytics platform-native dashboards) and the ability to communicate insights clearly to non-technical teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience working across cross-functional teams and advising senior colleagues.
  • Fluency in English with strong copywriting skills and experience creating or briefing digital ad creatives (e.g. via Canva or design teams).

Additional preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience managing paid campaigns on Meta (Facebook/Instagram) YouTube or TikTok.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit NGO media or B2B/SaaS sectors where marketing supports mission-driven or professional engagement goals.
  • Comfort operating effectively within tight budget constraints and prioritising initiatives for maximum impact.
