Job Summary
The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking an experiencedCustoms Specialist Journeymanto support customs compliance and internationallogisticsoperations across the Indo-Pacific. The Customs Specialist Journeyman serves as CACIslogisticsmanagement professional responsible for coordinating customs clearance import and export compliance cross-border cargo movement and regulatory documentation to supportlogistics mission support facilities sustainment and operational requirements. Reporting directly to the Transportation and Distribution Lead this position ensures thetimelyand compliant movement of Government personnel equipment supplies and mission-essential cargo throughout the Indo-Pacific theater.
The Customs Specialist works closely with Government stakeholders logistics planners transportation coordinators movement control teams freight forwarders customs brokers port operators host nation customs authorities Service Components coalition partners and mission partners to facilitate international shipments resolve customs issues and ensure compliance with U.S. and host nation import and export regulations. This position contributes to successful program execution by minimizing customs delays reducing regulatory risk and ensuring uninterruptedlogisticssupport across geographically dispersed operations.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate customs clearance activities for Government cargo equipment supplies and mission-essential material entering anddepartinghost nations.
Prepare review and process customs documentation shipping declarations import/export licenses cargo manifests bills of lading and supporting regulatory documentation.
Coordinate with host nation customs agencies port authorities customs brokers freight forwarders and transportation providers tofacilitatecargo movement.
Ensure compliance with U.S. Government regulations host nation customs laws Status of Forces Agreements (SOFAs) international trade requirements and contractual obligations.
Monitor shipment status andresolvecustoms holds documentation discrepancies inspections and clearance issues.
Coordinate customs support for Reception Staging Onward Movement and Integration (RSOI) deployment operations contingency missions and theater sustainment activities.
Maintain customs records import/export documentation compliance files and audit-ready documentation.
Provide customs guidance and regulatory support tologisticsplanners warehouse personnel procurement specialists and transportation coordinators.
Prepare customs compliance reports shipment status updates executive-level briefings and operational metrics for Government leadership.
Support humanitarianassistance disaster response coalition operations and emergentlogisticsmissions requiring rapid international cargo movement.
Coordinate inspections involving agricultural hazardous materials controlled items and sensitive Government equipment.
Identifycustoms risks regulatory changes and process improvements while recommending corrective actions.
Support operational exercises deployment rehearsals and theaterlogisticsplanning events requiring international cargo movement.
Promote compliance operational efficiency and continuous process improvement throughout customs and border clearance operations.
Support geographically dispersed and expeditionary operations requiring responsive customs coordination and internationallogisticsexpertise.
Qualifications:
Required:
Minimum 5 years of experience supporting customs operations internationallogistics transportation management import/export compliance supply chain management orlogisticsoperations for Government or Department of Defense programs.
Experience supporting Department of Defense Joint Combatant Command Service Component Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) or Special Operations organizations.
Experience coordinating customs documentation international cargo movement import/export compliance or cross-border transportation activities.
Experience supporting deployment operations theater sustainment or overseaslogisticsoperations.
Experiencemaintainingcustoms documentation shipping records regulatory files andlogisticsreports.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate with Government agencies host nation authorities commercial transportation providers andlogisticsorganizations while meeting operational timelines.
Desired
Bachelors Degree in Logistics Supply Chain Management International Business Transportation Management Business Administration Military Science or a related field.
Experience supporting USSOCOM SOCPAC Geographic Combatant Commands Joint Task Forces Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) or Service Componentlogisticsorganizations.
Experience supporting Indo-Pacific operations theater distribution contingencylogistics multinational sustainment or expeditionarylogisticsoperations.
ExperienceutilizingAutomated Commercial Environment (ACE) Global Air Transportation Execution System (GATES) Cargo Movement Operations System (CMOS) GCSS-Army Power BI SharePoint Microsoft 365SmarTrack TAPID and enterpriselogisticsmanagement systems.
Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations host nation customs procedures Status of Forces Agreements (SOFAs) international shipping documentation hazardous materials regulations and Department of Defense transportation policies.
Professional certifications such as Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) Certified Export Specialist (CES) Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) Certified Professional Logistician (CPL) or equivalentlogisticsand international trade certifications are preferred.
Experience supporting geographically dispersed Government programs involving OCONUS operations Special Operations Forces coalitionlogistics and international customs compliance throughout the Indo-Pacific is highly desirable.
