Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
1. Contract Administration
- Assist in the preparation review and administration of engineering and construction contracts (FIDIC NEC bespoke).
- Ensure all contractual requirements are implemented in accordance with company and project procedures.
- Maintain contract documentation registers variation logs and correspondence records.
2. Cost & Commercial Support
- Assist in preparing interim payment applications valuations and final accounts.
- Monitor contract budgets track expenditures and support cost control processes.
- Assist in the preparation and evaluation of variation orders claims and extensions of time (EOT).
3. Procurement and Subcontracts
- Support procurement activities including the preparation of tender documentation for subcontractors and suppliers.
- Review and evaluate bids and participate in negotiations when required.
- Administer subcontracts including scope changes payments and close-outs.
4. Coordination and Communication
- Liaise with project engineers planners quantity surveyors and the legal team on contract-related matters.
- Coordinate with clients consultants and subcontractors regarding contract compliance and change management.
- Support progress reporting and attend commercial/contractual meetings.
5. Risk and Compliance
- Identify and escalate contractual risks and assist in implementing mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations company policies and contract terms.
- Assist in audits and ensure proper documentation for internal and external reviews.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering Quantity Surveying Construction Management or a related field.
- At least 35 years experience in contract administration preferably in coastal marine or infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with FIDIC or similar standard forms of contract.
- Strong understanding of project cost control variation management and basic contract law.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP/contract management systems is an advantage.
- Excellent communication negotiation and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced multidisciplinary team environment.
