Consultant – Maintenance (UG Load and Haul)

The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Companys only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine with over 800 employees that support the mine.

OceanaGold is seeking a suitably qualified experienced and reliable Consultant Maintenance (UG Load and Haul) who is responsible for the maintenance of underground mobile equipment across the operation with a specific focus on Sandvik underground mining trucks and production loaders Job Purpose and Summary The position includes inspecting servicing and repairing underground mobile equipment with a level or quality that will ensure the fleet meets its availability and reliability performance targets.  In addition the position is responsible for transferring knowledge to and developing local technicians to improve their technical capacity and competence to perform their duties. This role reports to Superintendent Maintenance (UG Mobile).

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Execution of the underground mobile maintenance activities based on maintenance plans and strategies and breakdown priorities.
• Ensure all work is executed to the highest level of quality with safety as the primary consideration
• Understand maintenance plans to ensure that work is completed in line with the planned schedule
• Provide feedback to supervision on all work orders PM sheets SOPS etc.  and other documentation for accuracy detail and relevance or potential edits and improvements 
• Ensure all work is completed with the approved scheduled timeframe
• Participate in root cause analysis for all equipment failures work quality issues and operational incidents 
• Mentor and develop maintenance personnel to ensure best practice operations through on the job training opportunities 

Qualifications :

Educational Background:

• Heavy Equipment Mechanical or Auto Electrical Trade or relevant engineering degree

Work Experience and Background:

• 10 years underground mining experience
• Significant exposure to Sandvik trucks and loaders through employment with the Sandvik OEM mining companies or Tier 1 contractors

Specialization/License:

• Light vehicle Drivers License
