Job Summary
- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates from drawings specifications and project documentation.
- Develop and maintain accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for construction projects.
- Utilize Bluebeam to perform measurement takeoffs and quantity calculations.
- Review construction drawings plans and technical specifications to identify project requirements.
- Estimate material labor equipment and subcontractor costs for project proposals and budgets.
- Analyze project scope and identify potential cost risks discrepancies and value engineering opportunities.
- Ensure estimates align with relevant construction standards and project requirements.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders to clarify technical information and estimation requirements.
- Maintain organized records of estimates assumptions pricing data and supporting documentation.
- Support tender submissions and cost planning activities for projects ranging from small-scale works to large construction developments.
- Continuously monitor industry pricing trends and update estimating databases as required.
- Take initiative in identifying priorities improving estimating processes and contributing to team objectives.
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Construction Engineering or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in construction estimating quantity surveying or a similar role.
- Proven experience preparing BOQs and conducting detailed quantity takeoffs.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam for takeoffs and measurement activities.
- Strong knowledge of concrete structures reinforced concrete works foundations bases and pylons.
- Familiarity with Australian construction standards and construction documentation.
- Experience estimating projects ranging from approximately $100000 to $10 million in value.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings technical specifications and project documentation.
- Excellent numerical analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate and reliable estimates.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated proactive and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other construction estimating tools is an advantage.

Required Skills:
Requirements/Skills Needed: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Construction Management or a related field. 4 years of experience in estimation project costing or a similar role. Proficiency in AroFlo CRM and Groundplan software. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel Outlook and Word. Strong understanding of Australian construction practices and regulatory standards. Speak English well. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in reviewing plans and documentation. Strong IT skills with the ability to learn and adapt to various tools and systems.
