Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our growing this role you will work closely with the Founding Principal / experienced land developer to support the design and analysis of structural systems across a variety of projects.

You will contribute to engineering calculations assist with design concepts and help translate requirements into coordinated drawings and models. This role is ideal for someone with experience in residential land development who wants to grow within a collaborative engineering environment. Projects range from small fast-turnaround tasks to larger multi-month engagements primarily focused on industrial structures equipment supports and utility support systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Feasibility & Zoning Analysis

  • Concept Creation: Create new community concepts from raw land to enable the developer to quickly determine project feasibility.

  • Regulatory Research: Research local and state zoning stormwater and construction ordinances and regulations for residential land development.

2. Design Collaboration & Engineering Tasks

  • Principal Collaboration: Collaborate with the Founding Principal / Land developer on project concepts and engineering solutions.

  • Multi-Project Execution: Contribute to projects ranging from short-term tasks to multi-month engineering engagements.

3. Quality Control & Delivery

  • Expectation Management: Ensure engineering work meets schedule budget and quality expectations.

  • Team Participation: Participate in a collaborative team environment while gradually taking on increasing responsibility.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Civil Engineering.

  • Professional Experience: 2 years of professional structural engineering experience.

  • Core Competencies: Strong technical organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently meet commitments take ownership of assigned work and manage multiple project priorities with strong attention to detail.

Technical Skills & Codes
  • Engineering Tools: Experience with engineering tools including:

    • RISA3D

    • Navisworks

    • Bluebeam

    • AutoCAD

    • Familiarity with Revit is a plus.

  • US Engineering Codes: Working knowledge of U.S. civil engineering codes is desirable including:

    • AISC

    • ASCE

    • ACI

    • IBC
