Business Reporting Lead (Power BI)

Our client is a leading Australia-based provider of Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) delivering engaging before and after school programs and vacation care experiences for children and families nationwide.

With a strong focus on customer experience participation and operational excellence they rely on data and insights to better understand customer behaviour improve performance and support informed decision-making across the business. As they continue to evolve there is a growing emphasis on using analytics to uncover opportunities strengthen engagement and enhance outcomes for both customers and operational teams.

We are partnering with our client to hire a Business Reporting Lead to take ownership of their reporting platform and ensure the organisation has access to trusted scalable and actionable reporting.

This is a hands-on leadership role that combines technical delivery with governance stakeholder management and reporting strategy. You will be responsible for establishing reporting standards managing reporting priorities and developing reporting solutions that support decision-making across the business.

This is not a role focused purely on delegation. We are looking for someone who remains close to delivery actively builds reporting solutions and drives reporting excellence across the organisation.

• Own and manage the reporting platform ensuring reporting assets are accurate reliable and aligned to business needs
• Establish and maintain reporting governance including security data definitions inventory management and reporting standards
• Design develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports
• Partner with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into effective reporting solutions
• Manage reporting demand priorities and team capacity to ensure timely delivery
• Monitor and improve reporting quality usability and performance
• Develop and maintain reporting frameworks documentation and best practices
• Support adoption of modern reporting and analytical tools including AI-enabled capabilities where appropriate
• Deliver knowledge-sharing sessions and contribute to reporting capability development across the organisation
• Experience in a Reporting Lead BI Lead Power BI Lead Reporting Manager or similar role
• Strong hands-on experience with Power BI including dashboard development DAX data modelling and report optimisation
• Strong SQL capability and experience working with multiple data sources
• Experience establishing or maintaining reporting governance standards and controls
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence priorities and challenge constructively when required
• Experience balancing technical delivery with planning prioritisation and ownership responsibilities
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex reporting concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of reporting outcomes across the business
• Exposure to Microsoft Fabric or broader Microsoft data platforms
• Experience with role-level security (RLS) data governance and reporting frameworks
• Experience mentoring or leading reporting and analytics team members
• Familiarity with AI-enabled reporting and analytics tools
• Experience working within customer-focused operational or multi-site environments
• Exposure to capacity planning and workload management within reporting teams
