Accounting Team Lead

The Accounting Team Lead oversees daily accounting operations ensures the accuracy of financial records and leads a team of accounting professionals. This role drives month-end closing ensures compliance with accounting standards (US GAAP) and internal controls and actively pursues continuous process improvements and automation.

• Supervise mentor and foster professional development for accounting staff.
• Assign workloads monitor performance provide continuous coaching and conduct evaluations.
• Cultivate a collaborative high-performance team environment.
• Oversee general ledger activities AP AR and bank reconciliations.
• Review journal entries balance sheet reconciliations and supporting documentation for accuracy.
• Lead month-end quarter-end and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare and review financial statements analyzing data to provide actionable insights to leadership.
• Serve as the main point of contact for internal and external audits.
• Ensure strict adherence to US GAAP tax obligations regulatory requirements and internal controls.
• Research complex accounting standards and provide technical support on non-standard transactions.
• Identify operational inefficiencies and implement best practices SOPs and automation tools.
• Support ERP enhancements and system implementation initiatives to streamline workflows.
• Partner across cross-functional teams (Operations HR Finance) to support business needs.
• Address management inquiries and deliver ad-hoc financial analysis as requested.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Accountancy Finance or a related field.
• Certification: CPA license preferred.
• 10 years of experience in General Accounting or a related domain.
• 3 years in a supervisory role with proven experience training staff and reviewing complex work.
• Hands-on expertise in general ledger management reconciliations financial reporting and audit coordination.
• Experience in the US Healthcare industry is a plus.
