The Opportunity
As an experienced professional in General Environmental and Employee Health & Safety (EHS) at Hitachi Ltd. you will be responsible for developing implementing and managing comprehensive EHS programs and initiatives across our operations. You will ensure compliance with all applicable EHS regulations foster a strong safety culture and drive continuous improvement in environmental performance and employee wellbeing.

How will you make an impact

• Develop implement and maintain EHS policies procedures and management systems in alignment with Hitachis global standards and local regulations.

• Conduct regular EHS risk assessments inspections and audits to identify hazards assess risks and ensure compliance.

• Investigate incidents accidents and near-misses; determine root causes; and implement corrective and preventive actions.

• Provide expert EHS guidance and support to management and employees on all environmental and occupational health and safety matters.

• Develop and deliver EHS training programs to employees at all levels promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

• Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations procedures and guidelines

Your Profile

• Bachelors degree in Environmental Science Occupational Health & Safety Engineering or a related field. Masters degree preferred.

• Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in EHS roles preferably within a manufacturing or electric/energy industry.

• Demonstrated expertise in developing implementing and managing EHS programs and management systems (e.g. ISO 14001 ISO 45001/).

• Thorough knowledge of local national and international environmental and occupational health and safety regulations.

• Proven ability to conduct EHS risk assessments audits and incident investigations.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite EHS management software Power Apps and Power BI.

• Relevant EHS certifications (e.g. CSP CIH CHMM NEBOSH NFPA 70E) are highly desirable.
