Structural Engineering & Design
- Prepare structural calculations engineering designs and technical assessments.
- Design structural steel reinforced concrete and associated structural systems.
- Undertake structural analysis and engineering calculations for a variety of projects.
- Review engineering designs to ensure compliance with relevant standards and project requirements.
- Develop practical safe and cost-effective engineering solutions.
- Review structural drawings specifications and engineering documentation.
- Assess constructability buildability and engineering risks.
- Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) technical queries and design clarifications.
- Prepare engineering reports technical assessments calculations and certification documentation.
- Maintain engineering documentation technical records and design registers.
- Review structural steel fabrication drawings.
- Provide engineering support to fabrication workshops and construction teams.
- Review structural connections fabrication methodologies and workshop planning activities.
- Support construction activities through engineering advice and technical problem solving.
- Design and review temporary works solutions.
- Provide engineering advice relating to:
- Temporary works
- Crane lift plans
- Lifting operations
- Temporary bracing
- Propping systems
- Erection sequencing
- Support engineering planning for safe installation methodologies.
- Provide engineering advice for precast concrete systems.
- Review precast panel installation methodologies.
- Assess temporary stability requirements during installation.
- Support engineering solutions for structural installation activities.
- Support tender preparation through structural scope reviews.
- Assist with quantity verification and technical reviews.
- Provide engineering input during estimating and project planning.
- Identify value engineering opportunities that improve constructability and reduce project costs.
- Conduct site inspections and engineering observations.
- Provide engineering recommendations during construction activities.
- Coordinate with architects consulting engineers contractors clients and project stakeholders.
- Assist with engineering approvals certifications and authority submissions.
- Prepare engineering calculations and technical reports.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation and revision records.
- Prepare certification packages and technical submissions.
- Ensure engineering documentation complies with company quality standards.
- Comply with all company policies procedures and workplace safety requirements.
- Promote engineering best practice and quality outcomes.
- Ensure engineering designs support safe construction and fabrication activities.
- Maintain professional engineering standards throughout all projects.
- Mentor and support PNG National employees through practical coaching and knowledge transfer.

Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Structural Engineering from a recognised institution.
- Additional qualifications in Construction Management Project Management or related disciplines are advantageous.
- Relevant Engineering Qualification Certificates.
- Minimum 10 years experience as a Structural Engineer.
- Extensive experience in structural steel design.
- Experience in reinforced concrete design.
- Experience undertaking structural analysis and engineering calculations.
- Experience reviewing structural drawings specifications and engineering documentation.
- Experience preparing engineering reports technical assessments and certification documentation.
- Experience supporting commercial industrial institutional and infrastructure projects.
- Experience reviewing structural steel fabrication drawings.
- Experience providing engineering advice for temporary works crane lift plans lifting operations temporary bracing propping systems and erection sequencing.
- Experience supporting tendering estimating and project planning activities.
- Experience coordinating with architects consulting engineers contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Experience with precast concrete systems precast structures or installation methodologies is highly desirable.
- Current Drivers Licence.
- Membership of a recognised engineering institution.
- Chartered Engineer Professional Engineer or eligibility for professional registration is highly desirable.
- Relevant Engineering Qualification Certificates.
- Strong structural engineering design capability.

- Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and construction methodologies.
