Our Client is seeking an experienced Plumber / Roofer to join their construction operations in Papua New Guinea supporting commercial industrial and infrastructure projects across multiple sites.
This hands-on role is responsible for installing hydraulic plumbing systems roof plumbing systems stormwater and rainwater drainage infrastructure in accordance with project specifications Australian Standards and industry best practices. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering safe high-quality construction outcomes while mentoring PNG National employees through practical skills transfer and on-the-job training.

Hydraulic Plumbing Installation
- Install sewer stormwater hot and cold water reticulation systems.
- Install hydraulic plumbing systems for commercial and industrial construction projects.
- Carry out set-out installation and commissioning of hydraulic services.
- Ensure all installations comply with project specifications and applicable standards.
- Install roof plumbing systems including gutters downpipes flashings and roof drainage systems.
- Install rainwater collection and drainage systems.
- Ensure roof plumbing installations are completed to a high standard of workmanship.
- Identify and rectify installation issues during construction.
- Read and interpret construction drawings specifications and scopes of work.
- Coordinate with supervisors and other trades to achieve project delivery objectives.
- Support construction activities across multiple project sites.
- Identify and report defects design issues and site constraints.
- Ensure all plumbing and roofing works meet project quality requirements.
- Complete installations in accordance with Australian Standards and industry best practices where applicable.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship throughout all stages of construction.
- Assist in resolving construction issues to minimise project delays.
- Comply with all company safety policies procedures and site requirements.
- Promote safe work practices at all times.
- Maintain tools equipment and work areas in a safe clean and organised condition.
- Ensure work is performed safely efficiently and in accordance with company expectations.
- Report defects site issues and installation challenges to supervisors.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors project teams and other trades.
- Support efficient project coordination through accurate reporting of work progress.
- Mentor and support PNG National employees through practical coaching and knowledge transfer.
- Assist in developing plumbing capability within the local workforce.
- Promote technical competency safe work practices and quality workmanship.
- Support continuous workforce development through on-the-job training.
Qualifications
- Trade Certificate in Plumbing and Drainage or equivalent.
- Vocational or Technical qualification from a recognised institution.
- Secondary or Higher Education Certificate.
- Relevant Trade Qualification Certificate.
- National Certificate (NC II or equivalent) where applicable.
- Minimum 7 years experience as a Plumber.
- Strong experience installing commercial hydraulic plumbing systems.
- Experience with roof plumbing rainwater systems and roof drainage installations.
- Experience installing sewer stormwater hot and cold water reticulation systems.
- Experience interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience working on commercial industrial or institutional construction projects.
- Experience working to Australian Standards and industry best practices is highly regarded.
- Current Drivers Licence.
- Relevant Trade Qualification.
- National Certification where applicable.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic plumbing and roof plumbing systems.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and construction specifications.
- High commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary construction team.
- Ability to work in remote site environments and roster-based operations.
- Ability to work within a multicultural workforce.
