Position Overview
Our Client is seeking an experienced Architectural Draftsperson to join their Construction division in Papua New Guinea. This role supports the Commercial Manager and multiple business units by preparing high-quality architectural drawings technical documentation quantity take-offs and tender documentation for a wide range of commercial industrial civil and construction projects.
The successful candidate will play a key role in project planning tender preparation construction documentation and business development while ensuring drawings meet company and industry standards. The position also supports the ongoing development of PNG National employees through mentoring knowledge sharing and practical skills transfer.

Architectural Drafting & Design
- Prepare architectural construction and technical drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Produce concept layouts and assist with preliminary design development.
- Prepare detailed construction documentation suitable for tendering and project delivery.
- Ensure all drawings comply with company standards and project requirements.
- Prepare site management plans traffic management plans and supporting tender documentation.
- Complete quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
- Assist with scope identification during estimating and tender preparation.
- Support project planning and pre-construction activities across multiple business units.
- Prepare as-built drawings and project close-out documentation.
- Maintain drawing registers document control systems and electronic records.
- Ensure all technical documentation is accurate organised and up to date.
- Conduct site inspections and site measurements where required.
- Liaise with project managers engineers consultants and clients regarding drawing requirements.
- Provide drafting support throughout project execution and construction activities.
- Assist with preparation of presentation drawings and documentation for business development opportunities.
- Support tender submissions proposals and marketing initiatives.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of drafting standards and documentation systems.
- Maintain accurate drawing revisions and documentation records.
- Prepare technical documentation to support construction maintenance and fabrication projects.
- Ensure documentation complies with company quality standards.
- Comply with all company policies procedures and workplace safety requirements.
- Promote quality accuracy and professional drafting standards.
- Ensure documentation supports safe construction practices and regulatory compliance.
- Mentor and support PNG National employees through practical coaching and knowledge transfer.
- Assist in developing drafting capability within the local workforce.
- Promote continuous improvement and professional development across the drafting team.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Architecture Architectural Drafting Building Design or equivalent.
- Vocational or Technical qualification from a recognised institution.
- Relevant Qualification Certificates.
- Minimum 7 years experience as an Architectural Draftsperson or Building Designer.
- Advanced proficiency using AutoCAD.
- Experience using Revit for architectural design and documentation.
- Experience preparing architectural and construction drawings for commercial industrial institutional or residential projects.
- Experience preparing site management plans and traffic management plans.
- Experience preparing tender documentation and supporting pre-construction activities.
- Experience completing quantity take-offs and scope identification from drawings and specifications.
- Experience preparing as-built drawings and project close-out documentation.
- Experience supporting business development and tender submissions.
- Experience working across multiple projects simultaneously is highly regarded.
- Current Drivers Licence (desirable).
- Relevant Qualification Certificates.
- Advanced AutoCAD drafting skills.
- Strong Revit modelling and documentation capability.
- Excellent attention to detail and document accuracy.
- Strong understanding of construction documentation and drafting standards.
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings specifications and project documentation.
