Job Summary
A Farrier Specialist is responsible for the care maintenance and corrective treatment of horse hooves. The role involves trimming shoeing and assessing hoof health to ensure the comfort performance and well-being of horses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Trim and shape horse hooves according to industry standards.
- Fit and apply horseshoes for protection correction or performance enhancement.
- Diagnose and address hoof-related issues and lameness concerns.
- Collaborate with veterinarians and equine specialists on treatment plans.
- Maintain farrier tools and equipment.
- Educate horse owners on hoof care and maintenance practices.
- Keep accurate records of treatments and shoeing schedules.
- Certification or training in farrier.
- Strong knowledge of equine anatomy and hoof health.
- Physical fitness and ability to handle horses safely.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Minimum experience of 6 years.
