Your Role
Our digital platform is the backbone of Pelagus. As Tech Lead you will own its technical direction and delivery shaping architecture leading development through our external development partner and turning commercial strategy into a platform that scales. Day to day youll be in the code and the architecture alongside the developers while partnering closely with our Product Manager on roadmap and requirements and our UX/UI Lead on design and usability.
You will also work very closely with the management team giving leadership clear insight into delivery risk and opportunity and translating business priorities into technical execution. It is a hands-on high-visibility role for someone who wants their technical decisions to shape the trajectory of the company.
What you will be doing:
Own the technical vision architecture and roadmap for the Pelagus platform the digital backbone connecting customers part data and our global manufacturing network.
Lead day-to-day development delivery ensuring velocity quality and cost discipline.
Work very closely with the management team on technology strategy prioritization budgeting and board-level reporting.
Translate commercial and operational requirements from sales engineering quality and manufacturing into well-scoped technical deliverables.
Champion engineering best practice across code quality security scalability testing and documentation.
Oversee platform reliability data integrity and integrations with customer and partner systems.
Evaluate and introduce new technologies including AI-enabled capabilities where they create genuine business value.
What you will bring:
Enthusiasm curiosity and a genuine passion for innovation and advanced technology.
A Masters Degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
10 years of software engineering experience including proven experience as a Tech Lead Lead Engineer or Engineering Manager building a product from early-stage or MVP through to scale comfortable making pragmatic trade-offs under ambiguity rather than working from an established playbook.
A strong hands-on background in modern web platform development cloud architecture and API-driven integrations.
Experience leading or working through external or outsourced development teams with the ability to hold partners to high standards.
A commercial value-oriented mindset comfortable discussing trade-offs budgets and priorities with senior leadership.
Excellent communication collaboration and stakeholder-management skills with the ability to make technical topics accessible to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with cloud platforms and ecosystem.
Experience integrating AI-powered capabilities into a product (automation augmentation intelligent workflows) not just personal AI fluency but shipping it as product functionality.
Comfort using AI coding tools (e.g. Claude Code Copilot) to accelerate delivery.
Experience with workflow or business-process orchestration engines is an advantage.
Experience integrating software platforms with enterprise systems such as ERP or PLM platforms is an advantage.
A security-conscious mindset with an understanding of how to protect sensitive customer data and intellectual property within a platform is an advantage.
