IP Counsel
Job Summary
Kongsberg Automotive is seeking a business-oriented and technically strong IP Counsel who will play a key role in protecting and further developingthe Kongsberg Automotive Groups intellectual property and technology portfolio. The position offers a truly international work environment and close collaboration with Engineering Sales Legal and Management as well as with external advisors.
As IP Counsel you will act as a strategic IP partner to our business areas and help ensure that our IP strategy supports the companys technologyproduct and business objectives. You will work broadly with innovation patents trademarks IP strategy portfolio management and licensing.
- Develop drive and continuously improve IP strategies for selected technologies and product areas
- Conduct and coordinate freedom-to-operate (FTO) and patentability analyses in close cooperation with Engineering Management and external patent attorneys
- Assess inventions with regard to patentability business relevance and competitive value
- Provide recommendations on protection strategies (patents trade secrets defensive publications etc.)
- Coordinate and follow up patent applications and interaction with inventors and external advisors
- Perform portfolio reviews gap analyses and cost optimization of the IP portfolio
- Prepare patent landscapes white space analyses and competitor analyses
- Contribute to trademark strategy and trademark management
- Support licensing matters (in- and out-licensing) and IP-related disputes and negotiations
- Further develop IP policies processes and governance models
- Plan and conduct internal training and awareness activities within IP
- Act as a clear ambassador for a proactive and value-driven IP culture
- University degree with strong expertise in intellectual property law
- Experience with patents and IP strategy preferably from industry technology or R&D environments
- Strong business understanding and the ability to link IP to technological and commercial objectives
- Experience collaborating across disciplines and with external advisors
- Structured analytical and solution-oriented working style
- Strong communication skills in Norwegian and English both written and spoken
