As a Field Service Apprentice you will work alongside experienced Field Engineers Service Supervisors and technical specialists to support the installation maintenance troubleshooting and operation of equipment and systems. You will gain valuable hands-on experience both in the workshop and at customer sites while developing the technical and professional skills required for a successful career in field service operations.

As a Field Service Apprentice you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the installation maintenance testing and repair of equipment under supervision.
  • Assisting with equipment preparation mobilization rig-up and rig-down activities.
  • Learning to inspect troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues using established procedures.
  • Following technical instructions work procedures and safety requirements.
  • Operating and monitoring equipment while receiving guidance from experienced team members.
  • Assisting with routine maintenance and quality assurance activities.
  • Developing competency in the use of hand tools precision measuring equipment and technical systems.
  • Supporting documentation and reporting activities related to field operations.
  • Working collaboratively with field teams to deliver safe and efficient service execution.
  • Maintaining compliance with Baker Hughes HSE quality and operational standards.
  • Participating actively in apprenticeship training programs and competency assessments.
  • Building technical knowledge of products equipment and service delivery processes.

Fuel Your Passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have successfully completed relevant VG1 and VG2 studies in a technical discipline.
  • Have good verbal and written communication skills in both Norwegian and English.
  • Have a strong interest in mechanical electrical automation or industrial equipment.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and a strong willingness to learn.
  • Have good practical and technical aptitude with an interest in hands-on work.
  • Be reliable organized and committed to delivering high-quality work.
  • Possess a strong safety mindset and commitment to HSE requirements.
  • Be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Have basic computer skills and the ability to learn new technologies and systems.
  • Be motivated to build a long-term career within the energy and technology industry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completed relevant VG1 and VG2 education within Industrial Mechanics Automation Electrical Industrial Production or a related technical field.
  • Previous internship trainee workshop or practical technical experience is advantageous.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical electrical hydraulic or electronic systems.
