Embedded Systems Engineer

Nofence is a Norwegian scale-up that has built the worlds first virtual fencing solution for livestock. As we aim to revolutionise livestock management we will need top-notch competence in our Engineering team and we are now looking for an Embedded Systems Engineer.

The product is small solar-assisted and combines GNSS LTE Bluetooth and many other technologies so every design decision is a system integration problem. Join the NPD team that takes it from concept to pilot production.

What youll do

• Write prototype-level drivers and test firmware for new sensors chips and modules

• Own firmware-side power behaviour: low-power states and energy optimisation with hardware support

• Debug across the hardware/firmware boundary with oscilloscope logic analyser power analyser and debug probe

• Run protocol-level system tests for LTE NTN and Bluetooth including pre-compliance

• Build test automation and test setups for bring-up and regression

• Review schematics from the firmware side and give input on component choices
  

What were looking for

• Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering Embedded Systems Cybernetics or similar

• Embedded C including peripheral drivers (I²C SPI UART ADC GPIO interrupts DMA)

• Experience with an RTOS on ARM Cortex-M

• Low-power firmware design and energy measurement

• Python for test automation

• Comfort reading schematics datasheets and errata

• Fluent English
  

Nice to have

• Experience with Zephyr and nRF platforms. This is our platform and well get you up to speed

• GNSS LTE-M/NB-IoT Bluetooth or NTN knowledge and protocol test tools

• CE FCC and ISED certification

• Git and CI
