We are looking for a Director Marine Installationto lead one of the most critical operational functions within our Power Transmission business based in Oslo Norway.

Marine Installation plays a fundamental role in the successful execution of Nexans global turnkey EPCI projects. The department is responsible for delivering offshore load-out operations marine transportation cable installation services trenching activities and submarine repair services supporting some of the worlds largest energy infrastructure projects.

The Marine Installation organization currently consists of approximately 180 employees and consultants across five highly specialized departments:

Marine Engineering Laying and Systems
Marine Engineering Survey and Protection
Marine Engineering Mechanical
Marine Operations
Marine Equipment and Offshore Support

In this executive leadership role you will report directly to the VP Installationand play a critical role in driving operational excellence business transformation and long-term strategic development across marine installation activities globally.

HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

As Director Marine Installation you will be responsible for leading the strategic direction operational performance transformation initiatives and execution excellence of Nexans marine installation organization. You will ensure seamless integration between marine installation activities and large-scale turnkey EPCI project delivery while continuously strengthening organizational capability efficiency and safety performance.

Your responsibilities will include:

Defining and executing the long-term strategic roadmap for marine installation operations within Power Transmission

Leading safe efficient and high-quality execution of marine installation activities across global EPCI projects

Managing the full operational and financial performance of the Marine Installation organization including cost centers operational budgets and performance targets

Driving continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen operational efficiency installation performance and lessons learned implementation

Leading large-scale organizational transformation and change management programs supporting business growth and operational maturity

Ensuring smooth integration between marine installation activities and cross-functional project execution teams globally

Developing organizational capabilities and ensuring the right competencies are in place to support future business growth

Managing critical marine capital assets including cable laying equipment protection spreads marine turntables and offshore installation systems

Ensuring projects are staffed with highly qualified marine installation personnel and technical expertise

Supporting tendering activities by providing technical expertise and cost input for installation-related project bids

Managing operational risk ensuring high standards in safety quality delivery performance and cost control across all operations

Building a strong performance culture focused on accountability operational excellence and employee engagement

YOUR STARTING POINT

We know exceptional candidates may not meet every requirement perfectly but the following background will help you succeed in this role:

University degree in Engineering Marine Engineering Economics or another relevant discipline

Proven senior leadership experience managing large operational or project-based organizations

Strong expertise in marine operations offshore installation or subsea infrastructure projects

Experience leading complex project execution environments ideally within EPCI or large industrial infrastructure delivery

Strong financial management experience with operational budgets and performance accountability

Proven experience driving organizational transformation and change management programs

Strong understanding of operational risk management and mitigation strategies

Experience managing capital-intensive technical assets and complex operational equipment

Strong problem-solving capabilities and ability to structure complex technical and operational challenges

Excellent stakeholder management and ability to collaborate across multiple business functions globally

Strong people leadership experience including hiring developing motivating and retaining high-performing teams

Experience working with employee representatives union environments and complex organizational structures

Excellent English communication skills written and verbal
