About the Role

As a Data Analyst at NOV Downhole Broadband Solutions you will serve as the primary technical and analytical support for our real-time and memory-based drilling services. Acting as a key focal point across up to three rigs at a time you will monitor operations interpret complex downhole datasets and provide timely recommendations that enhance drilling performance manage risk and protect wellbore integrity.

You will support Project Managers as an in-house drilling advisor own critical analytical workflows (from optimization reporting to post-well reviews) and act as a technical escalation point for both internal teams and clients. This role combines deep drilling domain knowledge with strong analytical skills and offers the opportunity to contribute directly to new software solutions advanced tools and industry-leading technical publications.

NOV Downhole Broadband Solutions is a business group within the NOV Energy Products and Services segment specializing in drilling automation and optimization through the use of real-time downhole data. By deploying Wired Drill Pipe (WDP) technology and Along-String Measurement (ASM) tools we enable the transmission of high-density low-latency data from downhole systems to surface teams. This includes key metrics such as temperature pressure rotation and vibration data which contribute to smarter safer and more efficient drilling operations. Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main focal point for technical and analytical support across assigned rigs.
  • Provide daily technical oversight for real-time operations and tool performance.
  • Generate optimization reports with key events mitigations and recommendations.
  • Deliver operational intervention support on drilling dynamics pressure management and wellbore integrity.
  • Conduct BHA and operational design reviews trajectory advice and scope-of-work reviews.
  • Perform detailed performance and failure analysis using high-frequency memory data.
  • Support field testing and rollout of new tools software and technical changes.
  • Own the peer review process for technical service delivery and reporting.
  • Develop and deliver internal and customer technical training; mentor senior operations staff.
  • Collaborate with client engineering and subsurface teams and contribute to technical publications.


Qualifications

Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree in Engineering Petroleum Engineering Applied Mathematics Physics Data Science or a related technical discipline.
  • Preferably 3-5 years experience in drilling operations including significant exposure to DD/LWD and drilling optimization or equivalent combination of field and analytical experience.
  • Strong expertise in drilling dynamics BHA design trajectory management and well integrity concepts.
  • Demonstrated experience in performance analysis high-frequency data interpretation and failure investigation.
  • Proven ability to translate complex datasets into clear operational recommendations and client-ready reports.
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (operations subsurface engineering quality and software).
  • Comfortable presenting technical findings to internal stakeholders clients and at industry forums; experience authoring technical papers is an advantage.
  • Proficient in standard data analysis and visualization tools; experience with advanced analytics scripting or programming languages is a plus.
  • Fluent in English both written and verbal; additional languages are an asset.
