We are currently seeking:
Commercial / Operations Summer Intern
BW LNG is looking for one highly motivated summer intern for a combined role in our Commercial- and Operations teams. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the intersection of LNG shipping commercial strategy and daily fleet operations. As a summer intern you will work closely with experienced colleagues in Oslo and contribute to meaningful projects in a global maritime company supporting the transition towards a low-carbon future.
Our Commercial team is responsible for originating evaluating and developing new business opportunities and projects across the LNG value chain.
Exploring innovative solutions to leverage existing assets and pursue opportunities for new ones Tender participation and contract negotiations Financial modelling and research
Our Operations team is responsible for:
- The daily operations of our LNG carrier and FSRU fleet.
- Act as the key point of contact with counterparts terminals and clients driving safe efficient cargo operations and building lasting client relationships.
Key responsibilities:
Operations:
- Support daily operations of BW LNGs LNG carrier fleet coordinating with vessels and terminals to ensure smooth voyage execution
- Perform voyage-related performance and fuel efficiency calculations tracking vessel performance against charter party requirements
- Liaise directly with clients and counterparties delivering the high standard of service that underpins BW LNGs customer relationships
Commercial:
- Research: Perform market research on the energy markets and competitive landscape for the LNG shipping and FSRU/FSU segments
- Business development: Support the teams daily responsibilities including projects chartering and investment activities including financial modelling to support decision-making
- Communication: Prepare marketing proposals research analysis and other related materials for senior management
Qualifications:
- Currently undergoing bachelors or masters degree in business Economics Shipping Industrial Economics Marine Technology Engineering or equivalent with strong academic track record
- Current 3rd or 4th year student
- Relevant previous work experience is an advantage
- Good written and spoken English
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Scandinavian language skills

- Genuine interest in finance energy and shipping markets
- High motivation and drive willingness to learn and creative with flexible attitude
- Team player mentality with proven ability to work independently and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
