What were looking for
We are looking for a commercially driven Business Development Manager to support the growth of our advisory business across the maritime and energy sectors in the North Europe region.
In this position you will uncover and pursue new business opportunities cultivate trusted relationships with key industry stakeholders and design advisory solutions that respond to shifting market regulatory and technology needs.
This is a highly client-focused and entrepreneurial role for someone who enjoys building a business pipeline engaging with senior decision-makers and collaborating with technical commercial and regulatory experts to deliver tailored advisory solutions. You will work at the intersection of maritime decarbonisation energy transition and emerging technologies helping clients navigate change and identify new opportunities.

The role
As Business Development Manager Advisory (Maritime & Energy) you will:
- Develop and execute a business development strategy for advisory services across maritime and energy clients in the North Europe market.
- Identify prospect and engage decision-makers across shipowners operators charterers traders energy companies and OEMs / technology providers.
- Build and maintain relationships with marine equipment manufacturers including providers of engines scrubbers alternative fuel systems and retrofit technologies supporting their positioning within evolving compliance and decarbonisation landscapes.
- Collaborate with energy sector clients including utilities commodity traders oil and gas companies and participants across the alternative fuel value chain to uncover advisory opportunities tied to the energy transition and carbon markets.
- Build maintain and grow a robust pipeline of advisory opportunities while collaborating closely with subject matter experts to develop relevant client solutions.
- Develop client-facing materials including proposals presentations outreach communications and pitch documents.
- Represent the business at industry conferences OEM events and energy forums to build market visibility generate leads and support industry thought leadership.
- Monitor regulatory market and technology developments within maritime decarbonisation and energy transition translating insights into new advisory opportunities and commercial propositions.
- Establish and grow relationships with key accounts including senior executives C-level stakeholders and technical leaders across shipping energy and technology organisations.
- Collaborate with leadership teams on account strategy pipeline development forecasting and business development reporting.
- Support the creation and commercialisation of new advisory offerings from vessel-level compliance strategies to carbon management and energy transition solutions.
What you bring
- A degree in maritime engineering business or a related discipline.
- Several years of experience in business development sales consulting or client-facing advisory roles within maritime energy OEM technology or related industries.
- Knowledge of shipping decarbonization requirements and energy transition trends or the capacity to quickly acquire advanced understanding in these areas.
- Demonstrated experience building business pipelines and turning opportunities into advisory or consulting engagements.
- Deep commercial insight and the ability to turn complex regulatory and technical topics into clear business value for clients.
- Clear and effective written and oral communication skills in English. Norwegian or another Scandinavian language.
- Capacity to work with minimal oversight in an evolving business environment while maintaining momentum and delivering outcomes.
- An established network among North European shipowners operators charterers energy companies or marine and energy technology providers would be highly advantageous.
