School Bus Assistant

We are looking for a responsible caring and reliable Female School Bus Assistant to sit with and monitor students during school bus trips. The primary responsibility is to ensure the safety comfort and discipline of all children on board from pick-up in the morning to drop-off after school.

Key Responsibilities

- Student Safety & Supervision: Sit with students and monitor behavior throughout the journey to ensure order and safety.

- Pick-up & Drop-off: Assist children in boarding and alighting the bus safely. Ensure each child is handed over to the correct parent/guardian at their designated stop.

- Attendance & Headcount: Take attendance before departure and after arrival. Report any absent student to the school office.

- Student Care: Comfort younger children help with seatbelts bags and ensure they remain seated during transit.

- Communication: Be the link between parents the bus driver and the school. Report any incidents delays or concerns immediately.

- Discipline: Enforce bus rules in a calm and respectful manner. Address bullying or unsafe behavior.

- Emergency Support: Assist the driver in case of emergencies and follow all school safety protocols.

- Cleanliness: Ensure the bus interior is kept tidy and report any damage.

Qualifications :

Requirements

- Gender: Female 

- Education: Minimum SSCE/OND. First aid knowledge is an advantage.

- Experience: Prior experience working with children in a school daycare or caregiving role is preferred.

- Personal Qualities:*

    - Patient warm and good with children ages 3-16

    - Honest reliable and punctual

    - Good communication skills and a calm temperament

    - Physically fit to assist children in and out of the bus

- Other: Must pass background check. Residence within Bénin City is an advantage.

Working Hours

Monday - Friday. Morning and afternoon school runs.
