Job Summary
The Quality Control / Materials Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all construction materials laboratory testing and site workmanship meet strict engineering specifications. This role demands high professional integrity to enforce quality standards approve material sources and guarantee compliance with national regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
1. Laboratory Expertise & Material Testing
Perform and supervise hands-on laboratory testing including soil mechanics (CBR Proctors) concrete crushing tests and bitumen extraction.
Review analyze and interpret all laboratory and field test results before materials are approved for site deployment.
Evaluate and approve material sources quarry outputs and concrete/asphalt mix designs.
2. Quality Assurance & Site Inspection
Develop update and implement project-specific QA/QC plans and procedures.
Conduct rigorous daily on-site inspections of earthworks compaction grading asphalt laying and concrete structural elements.
Monitor subgrade sub-base and base course preparations to ensure structural integrity.
3. Regulatory Compliance & Reporting
Ensure all construction processes and materials comply strictly with the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing (FMWH) standards.
Identify quality non-conformances issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and follow up on corrective actions.
Prepare maintain and present meticulous weekly and monthly quality control reports for management and client representatives.

Technical Lab Skills: Direct hands-on experience in executing soil mechanics (CBR Proctors) concrete crushing tests and bitumen extraction.
Regulatory Knowledge: Deep working understanding of the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing (FMWH) specification manual.
Experience: 35 years of dedicated QA/QC or Materials Engineering experience strictly within road construction and civil infrastructure projects.
Education: Bachelors Degree or HND in Civil Engineering Materials Engineering or a strictly related engineering discipline.
Physical & Age Demands: Male candidate maximum 45 years old highly energetic and physically fit for constant rigorous site and laboratory movement.
Timeline: Ability to relocate and resume on-site within 46 weeks.
