Procurement Manager
Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Source evaluate negotiate and manage suppliers and vendors.
- Obtain and compare quotations to ensure competitive pricing and value for money.
- Negotiate contracts payment terms delivery schedules and other commercial conditions.
- Monitor purchase orders deliveries and supplier performance.
- Ensure timely procurement of materials equipment products and services.
- Maintain an up-to-date supplier database and identify alternative suppliers where necessary.
- Conduct market research to monitor prices trends and availability of goods and services.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with approved policies budgets and procedures.
- Work closely with Finance Operations Warehouse and other departments to understand procurement needs.
- Monitor inventory levels and support effective stock management.
- Resolve supplier-related issues including quality pricing delays and discrepancies.
- Prepare procurement reports cost analyses supplier evaluations and other management reports.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvement.
- Maintain accurate procurement records contracts purchase orders invoices and documentation.
- Ensure ethical transparent and professional procurement practices across the organization.
Required Skills:
At least 2 years of experience in a procurement or purchasing role preferably in the food or hospitality industry. Minimum of OND or HND in Purchasing & Supply Business Administration or related field. Professional certification (e.g. CIPS) is an added advantage. Strong knowledge of procurement processes vendor management contract negotiation and inventory management.
