Job Summary

In partnership with our client we are seeking an HR Manager to lead the people function for a leading feed milling and agribusiness operation. This role suits someone who is strategic hands on and comfortable balancing corporate HR standards with the realities of a production driven workforce. If you have over 10 years leading HR functions ideally within a feed milling or agribusiness setting we want to meet you.
Who are we looking for


  • You are a seasoned HR executive with over 10 years leading HR functions ideally within feed milling or the broader agribusiness industry.
  • You may bring a mix of agribusiness and top tier manufacturing HR experience but it is important that you have held a genuinely senior HR role within a feed milling business at some point in your career so you can appreciate the specific nature of this business.
  • You understand the specific people and operational challenges of a feed milling or manufacturing environment including shift work factory floor dynamics safety and unionised or blue collar workforces.
  • You are commercially minded seeing HR as a driver of business performance and not just an administrative function.
  • You bring both structure and empathy able to enforce policy while genuinely caring about the workforce.
  • You are a strong communicator who can influence and align stakeholders across production finance and executive leadership.
Your Responsibilities:
HR Strategy and Leadership


  • You will develop and lead the HR strategy in alignment with the companys overall business goals particularly around production and operational needs.
  • You will act as a trusted advisor to the executive team on all people related matters including organisational design and workforce planning.
  • You will lead and develop the HR team building their capability to support the business as it scales.
Talent and Performance


  • You will oversee recruitment and talent acquisition ensuring the business attracts skilled talent for both corporate and factory floor roles.
  • You will lead performance management processes ensuring clear goal setting review cycles and accountability across the workforce.
  • You will establish a strong succession and leadership pipeline within the business.
Compensation Compliance and Culture


  • You will manage compensation benefits and payroll structures to remain competitive and compliant with labour laws.
  • You will design and implement HR policies procedures and systems that reflect best practice in the feed milling and agribusiness industry.
  • You will ensure compliance with all statutory labour regulations safety standards and industry specific HR requirements.
  • You will drive employee engagement and culture initiatives that keep morale and retention strong especially among factory based staff.
What Success looks like:


  • An HR function that supports smooth uninterrupted production operations.
  • At least 90 percent employee retention among key operational and management staff annually.
  • Full compliance with labour laws safety regulations and statutory HR obligations.
  • Reduced time to hire for critical roles through efficient recruitment processes.
  • At least 2 to 3 major HR or culture initiatives rolled out per year that measurably improve engagement scores.
  • A strong succession and leadership pipeline established within the business.
To be considered for this role you should have


  • A minimum of a first degree in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field. A Masters degree is an advantage.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as CIPM CIPD SHRM or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 10 years of HR leadership experience with a genuinely senior role held within a feed milling business at some point in your career. A strong mix of agribusiness and top tier manufacturing HR experience with clear exposure to feed milling operations is also considered.
  • Proven experience managing HR functions in a fast paced production driven environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian labour law and statutory HR compliance requirements.
  • Excellent leadership stakeholder management and communication skills.
