Job Summary
Job Title: Funds Transfer Officer
Department / Unit: Banking Services & Operations
Job Grade: Banking Officer Senior Banking Officer
Reports To: Head of Banking Services and Operations
Supervises: Funds Transfer Officer
Responsible for executing all internal inter-bank and intra-bank funds transfer operations issuing bank cheques/drafts and handling assigned operational transactions while maintaining high customer service standards.
Transfer & Payment Processing: Ensure prompt local funds transfers process salary payments within approved turn-around time (TAT) and manage bank draft/cheque issuances.
Account Reconciliation: Monitor payments into collection accounts post entries promptly to customer accounts and reconcile suspense holding and collection accounts with FBN.
Compliance & Record Keeping: Ensure strict adherence to payment/lodgment requirements maintain funds transfer registers/files and keep accurate proof of payments.
Customer Support: Manage and resolve customer complaints related to funds transfer operations promptly.
Basic accounting knowledge and understanding of banking structures policies and procedures.
Service quality management and customer information handling.
Strong organizational multitasking and people/relationship management skills.
Ability to function effectively under pressure.
Process Cycle Time (TAT) and effective execution speed.
Accuracy: Quality of accounting records and reduced posting error rates.
Audit & Control: Inspection rating reports and operation loss levels.
Customer Metrics: Customer satisfaction levels service delivery index retention and new customer acquisition.
Compensation: Banking Officer Senior Banking Officer (the salary and grade level is non-negotiable) 645165.01 - 758403.27 monthly net.
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of brand management corporate communications public relations and reputation management. -Excellent knowledge of the banking industry customer segments and the regulatory environment. - Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic communication and integrated campaign plans. -Strong media relations stakeholder management and networking capabilities. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills including speech writing presentations and executive messaging. -Ability to manage crisis communications and sensitive reputational issues with sound judgement. - Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret campaign media and engagement data for decision-making. -Creative thinking strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency in brand expression. -Strong leadership people management vendor management and project coordination skills. -Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and digital communication platforms.
Required Education:
Bachelors degree in accounting finance banking business administration or a related discipline.
