Financial Controller
Job Summary
Our client is a global trading and distribution company with a network of offices and subsidiaries spanning more than 39 countries in Africa Asia Europe and the Americas. They have a network of showrooms and workshops across 12 countries and an assembly plant. They enhanced their distribution portfolio with farm machinery in addition to automobiles the company produces passenger cars trucks vans coaches buses sports cars construction equipment and military vehicles. They are currently in need of a FINANCIAL CONTROLLER
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly quarterly and annual financial statements in line with IFRS/GAAP.
- Oversee the general ledger accounts payable/receivable payroll and fixed assets.
- Ensure integrity of all financial data and enforce internal controls.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic re-forecasting.
- Monitor budget performance analyse variances and provide management with actionable insights.
- Manage cash flow banking relationships and working capital to ensure liquidity.
- Oversee Letters of Credit (LCs) forex procurement and vehicle import financing.
- Ensure full compliance with FIRS tax obligations (VAT WHT CIT Transfer Pricing).
- Coordinate external and internal audits; implement audit recommendations promptly.
- Maintain compliance with CAC CBN and other regulatory bodies.
- Monitor cost of sales parts inventory valuation and after-sales costs.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities across the business.
- Supervise and develop the finance team across all business units.
- Drive a culture of accountability accuracy and continuous improvement.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or Economics.
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA (mandatory).
- Minimum 10 years experience with at least 3 years in a Controller or senior finance role.
- Experience in automotive manufacturing or FMCG strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP Oracle or similar).
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax law and IFRS.
