Job Summary

The Electrician is responsible for the installation inspection maintenance testing troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems and equipment to ensure safe and reliable rig operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain electrical systems equipment panels motors generators and control systems.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective electrical maintenance.
  • Diagnose electrical faults and carry out repairs.
  • Test electrical equipment and circuits.
  • Inspect cables switches lighting systems distribution boards and electrical installations.
  • Assist with installation and commissioning of electrical equipment.
  • Maintain electrical tools and test instruments.
  • Ensure electrical work complies with approved procedures and standards.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Participate in electrical isolation and Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures.
  • Report electrical hazards and equipment defects.
  • Comply with HSE and electrical safety requirements.

Qualifications :

  • Minimum of OND/NABTEB/Trade Test in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 35 years relevant electrical maintenance experience preferably on drilling rigs offshore vessels or oil & gas facilities.
  • Experience with generators motors switchboards control panels lighting and electrical distribution systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety isolation and Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures.
  • Relevant electrical certification/licence is an advantage.
  • Valid offshore safety certification and medical fitness where applicable.
