Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design installation testing commissioning and maintenance of electrical systems for water-related infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience working on water treatment plants pumping stations borehole systems transmission facilities or similar water infrastructure projects. Experience working on donor-funded NGO-sponsored or government projects is highly desirable.

The role requires strong technical expertise in power systems control panels instrumentation and electromechanical equipment integration within water facilities.


Key Responsibilities:

Design & Technical Implementation:

  • Design and review electrical systems for water treatment plants pumping stations reservoirs and distribution facilities.

  • Prepare electrical layouts single-line diagrams load calculations and cable sizing.

  • Support integration of electrical systems with mechanical and civil components.

  • Ensure compliance with Nigerian electrical standards and international codes.


Installation & Supervision:

  • Supervise installation of transformers generators switchgear MCC panels control panels VFDs and related systems.

  • Oversee wiring cabling earthing and power distribution works.

  • Ensure proper installation of motors pumps and associated electrical components.

  • Conduct site inspections and verify adherence to approved designs.


Testing & Commissioning:

  • Participate in factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT).

  • Conduct system testing troubleshooting and commissioning of electrical equipment.

  • Ensure proper synchronization of generators and integration with grid supply.

  • Support commissioning of SCADA and automation systems where applicable.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

  • Diagnose and resolve electrical faults in plant operations.

  • Develop preventive maintenance schedules for electrical systems.

  • Provide technical support during plant rehabilitation or expansion projects.


Compliance & Documentation:

  • Prepare technical reports as-built drawings and commissioning documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with health safety and environmental regulations.

  • Support audits and donor compliance reviews where required.



Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • BSc/HND in Electrical Engineering.

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering within water infrastructure treatment plants pumping stations or related facilities.

  • Experience working on donor-funded NGO-sponsored or government infrastructure projects is an added advantage.


Professional Certification (Compulsory):

  • Registered with COREN (Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria) Mandatory.

  • Active member of NSE (Nigerian Society of Engineers) Mandatory.


Technical Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of power distribution systems and motor control.

  • Experience with pumps motors VFDs generators transformers and switchgear.

  • Familiarity with PLC systems instrumentation and SCADA integration is an advantage.

  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications.

  • Knowledge of Nigerian Electrical Regulations and IEC standards.
