Dental Surgeon

We are seeking an experienced Dental Surgeon to provide safe high-quality dental care and support the clinics clinical standards. The successful candidate will assess patients diagnose and manage dental conditions explain treatment options and work with the clinic team to provide a professional and positive patient experience.

• Examine patients take relevant medical and dental histories and assess oral health.
  

• Diagnose dental conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  

• Provide general dental care within the clinicians competence and the clinics facilities.
  

• Explain diagnoses treatment options risks costs and aftercare clearly and obtain informed consent.
  

• Refer patients for specialist care when their needs fall outside the clinicians competence or available services.
  

• Maintain accurate complete and confidential patient records.
  

• Follow the clinics procedures for infection prevention sterilisation patient safety and clinical waste management.
  

• Work collaboratively with dental nurses hygienists administrative staff and other clinicians.
  

• Monitor treatment outcomes arrange follow-up care and respond appropriately to complications or patient concerns.
  

• Keep up to date with relevant clinical guidance and continuing professional development.
  

• Contribute to clinical audits service improvements and the development of clinic protocols.
  

• Support patient education and preventive oral health initiatives.
  

• Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) or equivalent dental degree recognised for practice in Nigeria.
  

• 710 years of post-qualification clinical experience in dentistry.
  

• Current registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) and a valid annual practising licence.
  

• Evidence of continuing professional development.
  

• Specialist registration with the MDCN is required if applying for or practising in a specialist role.
  

• Professional indemnity cover as applicable to the role and clinic requirements.
  

• Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
  

• Clear compassionate communication and a patient-centred approach.
  

• Good clinical documentation and attention to detail.
  

• Commitment to professional ethics confidentiality and patient safety.
  

• Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary clinic team.
  

• Calm respectful manner when supporting anxious patients.
  

• Sound judgment about when to treat seek advice or refer.
