Delivery Van Driver

We are urgently seeking experienced Delivery Van Drivers for one of our clients to support its Asaba operations. The successful candidates will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation and delivery of products to customers and designated locations while ensuring proper handling of company vehicles and adherence to road safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate company delivery vans for the transportation and delivery of products.
  
• Ensure timely delivery of products to assigned customers and locations.
  
• Plan delivery routes effectively and demonstrate strong knowledge of roads within Asaba and the wider Eastern region.
  
• Conduct routine checks on the assigned vehicle before and after trips and promptly report any faults or maintenance needs.
  
• Ensure products are properly handled and secured during transportation.
  
• Maintain accurate delivery records including delivery notes and customer acknowledgements where applicable.
  
• Comply with all traffic laws company driving policies and road safety regulations.
  
• Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of the assigned vehicle.
  
• Demonstrate responsible and defensive driving practices at all times.
  
• Report accidents incidents delays vehicle faults or other issues promptly to the appropriate supervisor.
  
• Assist with loading and offloading of products where required.
  
• Maintain professional and courteous interactions with customers and other stakeholders.
  
• Perform other driving-related duties as assigned.
  

• Minimum of 5 years professional driving experience preferably in delivery distribution or FMCG operations.
  
• Strong knowledge of roads and routes across the Eastern region particularly Asaba and surrounding areas.
  
• Possession of a valid Nigerian Drivers Licence.
  
• Proven experience driving both manual and automated vans.
  
• Good knowledge and understanding of road safety regulations and responsible driving practices.
  
• Ability to read and follow directions effectively.
  
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  
• Reliable punctual and safety-conscious.
  
• Ability to work independently and meet delivery schedules.
  
• Previous experience working with a distribution or logistics company will be an added advantage.
  

Preferred Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be an experienced reliable and safety-conscious driver with excellent knowledge of the Eastern road network and a strong track record of responsible driving. The candidate must also demonstrate good customer service and the ability to work effectively under delivery schedules.
