Database Administrator
Job Summary
The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the installation administration optimization security and availability of the organizations database environments.
This role ensures high-performing secure and resilient database systems by implementing best practices in performance tuning backup and recovery disaster recovery database security monitoring and capacity planning.
The DBA will collaborate with software developers infrastructure teams and business stakeholders to deliver reliable database solutions that support business-critical applications while ensuring data integrity scalability and regulatory compliance.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Software Engineering or a related discipline.
- 35 years of hands-on experience administering enterprise database environments.
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server PostgreSQL MySQL and Oracle Database.
- Proficiency in SQL/T-SQL database design performance tuning query optimization and indexing.
- Experience implementing High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions including Always On Availability Groups Replication Log Shipping Mirroring and Failover Clustering.
- Experience with database backup recovery migration security and capacity planning.
- Knowledge of cloud database platforms such as Azure SQL Database Amazon RDS or Google Cloud SQL is an advantage.
- Familiarity with ETL processes database automation using PowerShell or SQL Server Agent and database monitoring tools.
- Strong analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to support mission-critical production systems.
- Excellent communication documentation and stakeholder collaboration skills.
