Job Summary
The Cashier will be responsible for receiving and recording payments for goods sold or released from the warehouse issuing receipts reconciling daily transactions and maintaining accurate cash and payment records. The role requires a high level of honesty accuracy and accountability in handling financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and process customer payments for goods purchased through cash bank transfers POS or other approved payment channels.
- Verify payment confirmations before authorizing the release of goods in line with company procedures.
- Issue receipts and ensure all transactions are properly documented.
- Maintain accurate records of daily sales payments received refunds and outstanding balances.
- Reconcile daily cash collections and electronic payments against sales records.
- Prepare and submit daily cash and transaction reports to the supervisor or accountant.
- Ensure all cash collected is securely handled and deposited or handed over according to company policy.
Requirements
- Minimum of an OND or equivalent qualification in Accounting Banking and Finance Business Administration or a related field is an advantage.
- At least 12 years of experience as a cashier sales cashier or in a similar role.
- Basic knowledge of cash handling payment processing and daily reconciliation.
- Proficiency in basic computer operations and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to verify bank transfers and use POS terminals.
- Strong numerical and record-keeping skills.
- High level of honesty integrity and attention to detail.
