Unicom Operator

Love aviation Were on the lookout for a casual UNICOM Operator to join the team at Whanganui Airport. Youll be covering weekends public holidays and leave as needed perfect if you want to stay connected to aviation without a fixed schedule.

What youll be doing

As a UNICOM Operator youll be the communication link between pilots and the airport - passing on weather updates traffic information and other key details to keep things running safely and smoothly. Youll work alongside ground staff and other airport users day-to-day and respond calmly and professionally if anything unexpected comes up. Full training is provided.

What youll need

One of the following (current or held within the last 10 years):

• Commercial or Private Pilots Licence or
• Air Traffic Services qualification

Itd also be great if you have

• Familiarity with Whanganui Airport and local airspace
• Clear confident communication skills
• A cool head under pressure and good attention to detail
• A solid understanding of aviation regulations and safety

A heads up the tower is accessed via three flights of stairs so youll need to be physically fit for the role.
