We are looking for2 experienced support workers to join our 24/7 crisis respiteteam. Ourservice offers short-term support to up to 5 guests at a timewhoareexperiencing mental health distressmaking it challenging for them tostay in their home environment. They come to us through their GP or mentalhealth service.

On theawakenight shift role youll be there to lend a hand with everyday things likemaking meals and keeping the place tidy as well as being a calm steadysupport for guests while they focus on their wellbeing. Every shift is a chanceto make a real difference in someones life.

Youll also

  • Focus on the individuals needs and provide culturally safe practice.
  • Complete relevant administrative tasks take comprehensive notes provide effective handovers to the next shift and support and collaborate with your colleagues.
  • While they are asleep you will be kept busy with other tasks like cleaning and supporting the day shifts with maintaining things like filing first aid kits emergency kits and preparation of paperwork.

About You Mōu
Youre a natural when it comes to caring and empathy and understand the powerof working in a recovery-focused way where individuals take charge of theirown journey making you an ideal fit for this role.

In addition

  • You must hold the Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognized equivalent
  • hold a current and full drivers licence
  • hold a current comprehensive first aid certificate covering unitsand 6402 or be willing to obtain one within 3 months of employment
  • have knowledge of and demonstrable commitment to the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi
