Straddle Crane Operators

C3 are building ourpool of Straddle Crane Operators and are looking for experienced heavymachinery drivers to join our team at the Sulphur Point Container Terminal.

About the Role

As a Straddle Crane Operatoryou will play a key role in the safe and efficient movement of containerswithin our terminal operations. Youll operate a straddle crane from a cabsuspended approximately 11 metres above the ground communicating with yourteam via radio.

While previousstraddle crane experience is advantageous it is not essential. We providecomprehensive training to successful applicants who can demonstrate strongheavy machinery operating skills and the right aptitude for the role.

As the container terminaloperates 24/7 night and day shifts as well as working weekends is arequirement. Night shifts are rostered between the hours of 6pm and generally range between 6 and 12 hours. Due to the nature of shippingschedules hours can vary and flexibility is essential.

Because of the longshifts and fatigue management requirements applicants must live locally orhave local accommodation to ensure safe commuting and compliance with companypolicy.

What Youll Bring

To succeed in thisrole youll need a calm focused approach and the ability to workindependently. Your workspace will be a small elevated cab so comfort withheights and working alone is essential.

Essential Requirements:

• Heavy machinery operating experience preferred but not essential
• Minimum Full Class 1 driver licence or higher
• Comfortable working at heights
• Flexibility and reliability
• Strong communication skills (radio communication is key)
• Good time management and ability to work unsupervised
• Ability to meet operational deadlines
• Willingness to follow standard operating procedures
• Strict adherence to all health and safety requirements
• Physically capable able to climb an 11metre ladder
