Are you ready to swap the ordinary for something truly unique

Were looking for a self-sufficient all-rounder to take on a Patrol Person/Road Maintenance Operator role based in Stewart Island. This is an opportunity to live and work in one of New Zealands most remote and beautiful locations where no two days are the same.

This is a one-person team requiring someone who thrives on independence and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly. Youll be responsible for a variety of operational and maintenance activities including:

Patrol duties across assigned areas
General maintenance and labouring work
Operating civil machinery (including excavators)
Mowing and vegetation control
Pothole filling and minor road repairs
Sweeping/broom work and site upkeep
Road Sign maintenance
Drainage and minor Bridging works

This is a day shift role with on-call requirements at times so flexibility is important.

Important Skills Ngā pūkenga matua

Ability to work independently and effectively manage your own workload and schedule
You will hold a Full Class 2 driver licence at minimum
Practical adaptable and solutions-focused approach to work
Experience in a civil/maintenance environment is highly regarded
Reliable resilient and comfortable working in a remote sole-charge setting
Strong commitment to health and safety with pride in delivering high-quality work
