About the Role

We are looking for a SpecialistICUPharmacisttojoin our team in a full time fixed term role until 23rd July 2027.

This is an exciting and varied opportunity towork within an experienced team who are all passionate about the health andwellbeing of the Canterbury days and hours associated withthis role are Monday Friday covering standard business hours but there maybe some weekend/late night roster requirements.

This role involvesworking as a Specialist Pharmacist within the intensive care unit atChristchurch Hospital and sits within the Pharmacy surgical clinical team. Asan ICU Specialist Pharmacist you will work alongside skilled and supportivecolleagues providing specialist medicines advice and care for people withcomplex and critical health needs. This role offers the opportunity to growyour specialist practice contribute to service improvements and help deliverexceptional patient care across the intensive care service and the pharmacy.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Provision of a team based full clinical pharmacy service including medication reconciliation therapeutic drug monitoring and answering medicines information enquiries
  • Involvement in interdisciplinary education
  • Supervision training and support of pharmacists technicians interns and students
  • Participation in the on-call service
  • Medication supply including dispensing sterile production and cytotoxic ordering

About You

We are looking for an enthusiasticpharmacist with a good work ethic who enjoys working as part of a team hasexcellent interpersonal skills and a strong desire to learn. Hospitalexperience is preferred but not mandatory. If you are considering aswitch to hospital and have a willingness to learn you will find you are wellsupported with your transition.

To be successful in this role your skillswill include:

  • Well-developed communication and time-management skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • The ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary team
  • A flexible and motivated approach to your work
  • You must be a qualified and NZ registered pharmacist
  • At least 4 years post internship experience with at least 2 years hospital experience
  • Post-graduate clinical qualification and/or specialist clinical experience in current or previous roles especially within this area of speciality is preferable.
