Job Summary
The Opportunity
We have an exclusive opportunity for a judges clerk to join our Litigation team as a Solicitor in early 2027. This role suits an outstanding candidate looking to build their career in a high-performing broad commercial litigation practice led by partners David Broadmore and Luke Sizer.
Youll work on complex high-value matters for listed entities and other prominent clients with exposure spanning advisory work ADR and litigation at all levels of the New Zealand courts.
What youll be doing
- Work across a wide range of commercial litigation matters including financial services insolvency property class actions construction company judicial review and IP disputes.
- Support complex high-value matters for listed entities and prominent clients.
- Contribute to all stages of disputes from advisory and ADR through to court proceedings.
- Assist with preparation for matters before the High Court Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.
- Undertake legal research drafting and analysis to support case strategy.
- Work closely with partners and senior lawyers in a collaborative high-performing team.
- Build your litigation and advocacy capability through hands-on experience and mentoring.

- A current or recent judges clerk with strong academic results.
- Excellent legal research drafting and analytical skills.
- A genuine interest in commercial litigation and dispute resolution.
- Strong attention to detail and sound judgment.
- A proactive team-oriented approach with strong interpersonal skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
