Our People Pathway (OPP) is a major programme delivering a new Human Resources Information Management (Workday) system across the University.
Te mahi The role
Working alongside the Workday programme team internal technology specialists and implementation partners youll design build and deliver robust scalable integrations that support the successful implementation of Workday across the University.
This is an opportunity to work at the heart of a major digital transformation programme modernising legacy integrations developing solutions across cloud and on-premise platforms and helping shape the Universitys future integration capability.
Key responsibilities include:
Designing building and delivering enterprise integrations and data pipelines.
Modernising legacy Oracle integrations using contemporary integration patterns and architectures.
Developing secure scalable and sustainable integration solutions across a diverse technology landscape.
Contributing to integration standards practices and capability development across the University.

Were seeking an experienced software engineer with a strong background in enterprise integration and a passion for solving complex technical challenges.
To be successful in this role you will bring:
Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise integrations across the full delivery lifecycle.
Strong knowledge of integration patterns and technologies including APIs event-driven architecture messaging ETL REST SOAP XML and JSON.
Experience with data mapping transformation and validation within complex integration environments.
Experience with containerised applications and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift.
Knowledge of cloud platforms ideally Microsoft Azure.
Understanding of integration security authentication and secure data exchange.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships across technical and business teams.
While not essential experience supporting a Workday implementation or other enterprise HR Finance or Payroll platforms knowledge of Java and the Quarkus framework experience in large complex organisations and exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices would be advantageous.

This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) fixed-term position for two years based in Ōtepoti Dunedin.
We also welcome applications from candidates based elsewhere in New Zealand who can work remotely with occasional travel to Dunedin as required.
The appointments range for this role is $99364 to $107888 per annum.
