About the Job
We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer Mechanical to join our Christchurch team working across a diverse range of projects within the industrial energy water power and infrastructure sectors. Youll contribute throughout the project lifecycle from concept and design through to construction support and commissioning helping deliver practical solutions that support New Zealands transition to a more sustainable future.
Working closely with our project delivery and mechanical engineering teams youll play a key role in coordinating technical activities managing stakeholders and ensuring projects are delivered safely on time and to a high standard.

What Youll Do
- Deliver mechanical engineering projects across the industrial power water energy and infrastructure sectors.
- Coordinate project activities from concept and design through to construction support and commissioning.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams customers contractors and suppliers to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Manage project scope schedule budget and resource requirements.
- Support technical reviews risk assessments and quality assurance processes.
- Assist with procurement activities contractor management and construction support.
- Maintain a strong focus on health safety and environmental performance.
- Prepare project documentation reports schedules and cost forecasts.
- Support business development activities and help identify opportunities with existing and new customers.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across project delivery and execution.
What Youll Have
- Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Demonstrated experience delivering engineering projects within industrial manufacturing water energy infrastructure or related sectors.
- Understanding of mechanical systems equipment piping utilities process plants or rotating equipment.
- End-to-end project delivery experience including design coordination construction support and commissioning.
- Strong project planning scheduling and coordination skills.
- Experience managing stakeholders contractors and suppliers.
- Understanding of project budgeting forecasting and risk management principles.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive collaborative and customer-focused approach.
- New Zealand citizenship residency or a valid work visa with the right to live and work in New Zealand.
