Project Engineer

As we continue to build our team in New Zealand we currently seek a Project Engineer to be based in Christchurch. Reporting to the Project Manager the key responsibilities of this position include:

• Identify and manage project resources including materials handling equipment for optimum productivity and assist Project Manager during start up to acquire resources.
• Liaise with design consultants and coordinate subcontractors to ensure efficiency quality and productivity.
• Prepare and monitor project management plans systems and registers.
• Establish and monitor quality controls as per specifications and project management plans.
• Assist with cost management and reporting including preparation of project reports.
• Assist the Site Manager with medium term planning and programming.
• Assist with any health and safety incident and compliance reports in accordance with the contractual requirements government legislation and BESIX Watpac policies and procedures.

Qualifications :

The incumbent in this role will require the following qualifications and experience:

• Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or a recognised equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role on commercial building projects.
• Ability to communicate influence and build effective relationships at all levels of the business.
• Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative sound reasoning listening and decision making skills.
