PlunketLine Nurse

PlunketLineisa free telehealth helpline and advice service available to whānau 24 hours aday seven days a week. Our Registered Nurses use their clinical expertise andknowledge to help caregivers manage everyday parenting queries as well asmanaging emergent situations and delivering clinical advice for families.

We are currently recruiting forRegistered Nurses formultiple roles with a minimum 0.6FTE working a fixed 2-week roster acrossvarying shift times and days including weekends.We have two physicalcall centres in Auckland and Wellington and would love to hear from nurses inthose regions. We are also open to experienced confident practitionersworkingremotely from anywhere in Aotearoa New Zealandprovidedyou have fast-fibre connection and a space which allows you to workuninterrupted and maintain our callers confidentiality. Shifts will be a mixof mornings evenings and weekends.

Te Whiwhinga mahi The opportunity

Plunketline Registered Nurses answer calls 24/7 related tothe health and well-being of Tamariki under 5 and parenting advice. PlunketLineare currently expanding their services and this mahi will be across multiplechannels including virtual consults chat and phone. While the comfort ofworking from home is a great perk when on shift you will be required to be atyour desk and ready for every call.

Calls vary from traditional well child queries about solidsand sleep to receiving calls seeking advice about vomiting colds flu burnsand everything in between. Calls managed through your clinical assessment andnursing judgement can make a huge difference to whanau and client outcomes. Weprovide comprehensive training and on call support from Clinical Leadershowever your clinical judgement and assessment skills are key to ensuring youmake the right decision to get the best outcome for your caller.

Full time annual base salaries are between $66222($33.51 per hour) to $94842 ($48.00 per hour) depending on experience withpenal rates available for weekend and evening work.

Telehealth is all about effective listening and assessmentskills. Youll use a compassionate whānau-centred approach to ask the rightquestions to gather all relevant information and gain an understanding of thecallers situation before giving advice and recommendation.

You will thrive in remaining at the top of your game indynamic environments and be able to think on your feet and maintain a sense ofresilience throughout your shift.

As a computer-based role you will need to be comfortableworking within multiple systems and have high level of computer literacy.

Paediatrics emergency or urgent care experience isrequired. While previous telehealth or prior call centre experience isdesirable it is not required.
