Plant and Terminal Operator

SGS New Zealand is seeking responsible reliable and safety-focused individuals to join our New Plymouth team as Casual Plant and Terminal Operators.

This is a casual position with no guaranteed hours making it ideal for people who value flexibility and are available to work across a variety of shifts.

As a Plant and Terminal Operator you will play an important role in supporting the safe and efficient movement of bulk liquid products through our terminal operations.

What will you be doing

• Loading and unloading a wide range of bulk liquids including petroleum fuels diesel chemicals tallow LPG bitumen condensate and crude oil vessels.
• Following established operating procedures and strict health and safety requirements.
• Completing operational documentation and maintaining accurate records.
• Supporting other terminal activities as required.
• Working outdoors in all weather conditions and undertaking manual handling activities.

As we operate 24 hours a day 7 days a week flexibility is essential. You must be available to work day night weekend and public holiday shifts as required.

• Strong time management skills and the ability to work effectively in a busy environment.
• A reliable committed and team-oriented approach.
• A strong focus on health safety and compliance.
• Good verbal communication and written record-keeping skills.
• The physical fitness required for manual work and outdoor conditions.
• A current full New Zealand drivers licence.
• The ability to pass pre-employment medical drug and alcohol testing and background checks
• Current forklift certification would be a bonus.
