Peer Support Worker Fixed Term

• Fixed Term Position (32-40hrs) for 6 months

About us

Comcare is an established Mental Health and Housing provider assisting people with mental health or addiction issues to live well in the community. We provide a rich and diverse range of Mental Health Support Services Housing and Housing Support Services.

We are seeking a peer supporter with their own lived experience of mental illness and/or addictions to work in our Christchurch Peer Support team.

What youll be doing

• Meeting individually with clients to provide Intentional Peer Support

• Maintaining relevant electronic records

• Reflecting on your own work practice through supervision

• Contribution to thePeer Supportteam.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Training and experience in Intentional Peer Support or similar.
• Experience in TikangaMāoriand culturallyappropriate servicedelivery toMāoriwould be an advantage as would experience in the mental health and/or addictionssector.

• Experience in the mental health and disability sector would be an advantage.

It is desirable that you have a New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 Peer Support Qualification (or similar) or are committed to studying towards one.

Applicants must hold a current full clean drivers license.

You will have a cultural awareness knowledge of and demonstrable commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
